Featured Video Play Icon

Surprise your friends and family on this holidays with this super gourmet but really easy entrée, these goat cheese and red wine truffles are something delicious, and if you feel lazy to make the filled cheese spheres, I give you another way of making this recipe using the same ingredients, because I want that on these holidays, you can be that chef that you have inside and leave everyone you know with their jaw on the floor.

I’m using a strong red wine for this recipe, it’s a Monte Xanic Syrah, but you can use your favorite wine, I think The most laborious task of this recipe is making the wine gelatin, but honestly, it’s a no brainer and it will be delicious, the contrast of the textures makes it a holiday worthy appetizer.

GOAT CHEESE AND RED WINE TROUFFLES

Prep Time 20 mins | Cooking time  5 mins

Goat cheese and red wine truffles, ideal for this holiday season, an elegant and super easy to make homemade appetizer.

Yield: 12

Ingredients

• ½ cup Syrah red wine

• ¼ cup sugar

• 2 tsp. Flavored gelatin or pectin

• 200 g of goat’s cheese

• toasted almonds

• bread

Instructions

 1. Start by making the Red wine gelatin or red wine marmalade, place the red wine in a saucepan along with the sugar and bring to the fire, until it boils and the sugar dissolves completely.

2. Remove from the heat and add the gelatin, if it’s pectin, return to the fire and cook until it thickens, but as I used gelatin, just stir, place in a bowl, let it cool and take it for about 10 minutes to the fridge to cool until it’s firm. Then cut the red wine gelatin into squares.

3. Take some goat cheese in your hands and form a ball, fill it with the red wine jelly and pass it through chopped toasted almonds. Reserve.

4. You can also make toasts with the same ingredients, check the video and look at this other way of how to do this preparation.
